About Talanton Digital
If you’ve been entrusted with something, you’d better put it to work.
Why “Talanton”?
A talanton (τάλαντον) was a unit of weight and money in the ancient world. One talent of silver was roughly 75 pounds — worth approximately 20 years of a common laborer’s wages. It wasn’t pocket change. It was life-altering wealth.
In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells a story about a master who entrusts his servants with talents before leaving on a journey. Not small sums — staggering resources. Five talents to one servant. Two to another. One to a third. His instruction, in essence: put this to work.
Two servants invest theirs. They risk, they trade, they double what they were given. The third servant digs a hole and buries his. He plays it safe. When the master returns, the multipliers are rewarded with more. The one who buried his talent loses everything.
(A historical footnote: the English word “talent” — meaning skill or ability — actually evolved from this parable over centuries of usage. The original Greek is purely about entrusted wealth. That linguistic connection is a nice layer, but the foundation of this brand is the original meaning: enormous resources, entrusted for stewardship, with an accounting to come.)
That story has been rattling around in the founder’s head for decades. Not as a devotional thought — as a business conviction.
What Talanton Digital Is
Talanton Digital is an LLC holding company that builds and operates digital ventures. Think of it as the launchpad and the engine room — the parent company behind a growing portfolio of SaaS products, content platforms, and digital services.
We don’t acquire companies. We build them. Each venture in the Talanton portfolio is born from genuine expertise, built to solve a specific problem, and operated for the long haul.
Who’s Behind It
The founder brings 30 years of technology leadership spanning government, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial sectors. Architect-level thinker. Serial entrepreneur since 1997. Currently serves as VP of Business Operations at a faith-based nonprofit — which means he knows the sectors he builds for from the inside out.
He’s a Christ-follower. Unapologetically. Not in the put-a-fish-on-the-logo sense — in the this-is-why-I-build-what-I-build sense. The Parable of the Talents isn’t a branding exercise. It’s the operating conviction that drives every venture under this roof.
Three decades of resources, relationships, and hard-won knowledge? Those aren’t résumé lines. They’re entrusted wealth. And burying them was never an option.
How We Think
Stewardship is the operating system. We treat every resource — time, money, expertise, opportunity — as entrusted, not owned. That changes how you build. You build carefully. You build to last. You build for the people you’re serving, not just the metrics.
Depth beats breadth. We don’t build in sectors we don’t understand. Three decades across government and nonprofit technology means we know where the real pain points are — and where the market is underserved.
Action over accumulation. The servant who buried his talent wasn’t lazy. He was afraid. We refuse to let fear of failure keep valuable resources underground. Ship it. Serve people. Iterate.
Faith-informed, built for everyone. Our values come from somewhere specific. Our products serve everyone. You don’t need to share our convictions to benefit from what we build — but we’re not going to hide where they come from.
